Retreats with Yoga at the Mill
One of our passions is creating yoga and meditation retreats that will allow people - especially beginners - to experience the power of these ancient practices in a nurturing and supportive small-group setting. Through Yoga at the Mill's sister company, Satvada Retreats, we have been running retreats for the last eleven years, many of which have received rave reviews in national press such as The Guardian. Our current locations are beautiful hand-picked venues in Norfolk, Croatia and Morocco. We are also delighted to be launching monthly yoga and mindfulness day retreats from our dedicated studio in Chelmsford, running on the last Saturday of each month (alternate themes of yoga and mindfulness). Day retreats in Chelmsford: last Saturday of the month, 11.30am - 4.30pm
Our small group day retreats run on the last Saturday (11.30am - 4.30pm) of each month - on an alternating cycle of yoga one month, and a silent mindfulness day retreat the following month.
The 2017 summer mindfulness day retreats will be in June and August, with yoga days running in July and September.
For beginners, these days are a wonderful chance to step out of usual routine and experience a flavour of yoga or mindfulness meditation in a supportive small group setting, led by highly trained, sensitive teachers.
For those with prior experience (perhaps you take a regular class with us or have dipped your tow in before?) these retreat days will be a rare chance to spend extended, uninterrupted time exploring and deepening your practice.
Longer stay retreats in the UK, Morocco and Croatia.
We have been creating and delivering successful, highly regarded small group retreats for the last eleven years. After a previous career writing about the retreat industry for the travel and wellbeing press, former journalist Lucia has an insider's view on what makes for a great retreat experience.
Satvada's first retreat - now ten years ago - was held near Marrakech, where Darren and Lucia fell head-over-heels in love with the warmth, colours, sights and smells of Morocco. Morocco is still a leading destination for us: we work with trusted and very special guesthouses, Riads and hotels to deliver three-night Wellbeing Weekends and five-night yoga and walking retreats in the superb backdrop of Morocco's Atlas mountains. During the festive period we also offer two very special new year retreats.
Back in Europe, we have a long-standing partnership with the owners of two very special Croatian villas nestling near the seafront. These retreats are all about amazing organic food, sea vistas, a private infinity pool, guided walking in olive groves, and - of course - two yoga classes a day!
Even closer to home, in rural Norfolk, we run regular winter Mindfulness for Wellbeing retreats, highly acclaimed by The Guardian. A daily gentle schedule of mindfulness, restorative yoga and yoga nidra add up to a powerful wellbeing boost. Unlike most retreat experiences, there's no need to clear up or put your name down on a washing up rota. Everything will be done for you - including three meals a day in the form of wonderful home cooking - and you'll be accommodated in luxurious en-suite bedrooms.
