Is it for me?

This deeply therapeutic weekly class is suitable for anyone wishing to explore some of the softer, meditative aspects of yoga. We will begin each session with very gentle mindful movement, before we are guided into a state of deep relaxation through yoga nidra - a powerful form of meditation practised lying down. Yoga nidra has been scientifically proven to help with stress and anxiety, as well as insomnia.

Are you looking for a very gentle yoga class aimed squarely at relaxation through meditation? We have created these weekly classes to calm mind, body and nervous system.

Gentle Mindful Movement brings a meditative focus to our present moment experience, enabling the mind to calm and centre, and the body to begin to soften and relax.

Movement practised this way can also help gently energise the body and soften nervous tension, leaving mind and body feeling grounded and calm. 

After a period of Mindful Movement, the class will lead onto Yoga Nidra - an ancient meditation practice that is radiply becoming very popular in the West.

Meaning 'yogic sleep', the intention is to enjoy full body relaxation and enter a deeply therpeutic state somewhere between being awake and asleep. The benefits of a regular Yoga Nidra practice include lessening anxiety, mild depression and stress, and improving sleeping patterns.

This deeply restoring weekly class is not for those looking to improve fitness, flexibility or strength. It is, however, for anyone seeking to boost all-round mind and body wellbeing by learning to relax fully - and experience the manifold benefits this capacity for relaxation tends to bring.

What shall I bring?

All equipment is provided for you, so there's no need to bring your own mat, blanket, bolster or block - we have everything you will need. :)

We recommend that you wear comfortable and loose-fitting clothing to your classes.
