Yoga day retreats

Is it for me?

One of our passions is creating yoga  retreats that will allow people - including complete beginners - to experience the power of this ancient practice in a calming, nurturing small-group setting. Through Yoga at the Mill's sister company, Satvada Retreats, we have been running highly rated retreats around the world for the last eleven years. So we are very excited to be drawing on this experience to deliver Saturday day retreats for those wishing to stay close to him for reasons of cost or convenience.  The setting is our only dedicated yoga and meditation studio, tucked away on the top floor of Grade II Listed building, Moulsham Mill. We're right in the town centre, yet the building backs onto fields and the river.

Why take a yoga day retreat with us?

Are you looking for some quality time out close to home, in which to nurture your health and wellbeing - yet with minimal financial and time commitment? Then we hope we can help out! :)

Beginner yoga students
Our day retreats are carefully structured for all levels of ability, from beginners wishing to dip a toe in to the yoga exeprience, to those with an established  practice seeking the luxury of a day's immersion.

In line with our company ethos, we aim to present yoga in an encouraging, supportive, completely non-competive way - focusing on the all-important meditative aspects of yoga, as well as the huge range of physical benefits.

Each day retreat will follow a broad format of a more active, energising practice in the morning, 11.30-1.30, followed by an hour's lunch-break.

The afternoon will be dedicated to the very gentle, highly beneficial practice of Restorative Yoga, combined with meditation, using bolsters, blankets and eye pillows to support the body and mind into deep relaxation.

Broad day retreat outline

  • Morning practice: - 11.30 - 1.30pm: an active morning practice (suitable for all levels) work to energise, strengthen and enliven the body.
  • 1.30 - 2.30pm: lunch break. Bring your own lunch, have some food at the Mill's downstairs cafe or walk into the town centre.
  • Afternoon practice - 2.30 - 4.30pm: a deeply calming afternoon practice, integrating Restorative Yoga with meditation and deep relaxation.
