Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Is it for me?

We believe yoga is for everyone, and as there is a wide range of styles, we can help you to choose the right one for you. Vinyasa Flow yoga can be better suited to those of a higher fitness level, but it can also be adapted to suit most needs, especially our beginners classes. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like some advice on which class would be best for you.

Sarah Nunn
Vinyasa simply means 'moving with the breath'. Derived originally from the Ashtanga Vinyasa style of yoga, Vinyasa flow yoga is a creative, energetic practice, designed to boost strength, fitness, flexibility and stamina.

Our vinyasa flow classes, whilst fun, are alignment-aware, and taught mindfully, ensuring the body is correctly positioned to move in and out of postures.

This style of yoga can incorporate reasonably long sequences, connected by fluid, breath-initiated movement.

Flow classes appeal to those wishing to enjoy a reasonably challenging class that will improve all-round fitness, as well as, of course, incorporate breath awareness and relaxation.

Our beginners flow classes are suitable for complete yoga beginners, while our standard classes would be better suited to those with some previous yoga experience, or with good fitness levels.

Our flow classes are taught by Lucia Cockcroft, Izzie Miller, Sarah Nunn and Sophie MacDonald.

Class outline

  • Making yoga asana fllow - During this class we look at chaining yoga postures to create an energetic and aerobic flow. Unlike many flowing classes, we will take time to understand how we can flow from one posture to another in amindful and safe way.
  • Introduction to breathwork (pranayama) - By managing the breath we are able to promote feelings of relaxation and wellbeing.
  • Meditation - In many of our classes we introduce meditation which can help still the mind and promote feelings wellness and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. We spend time on our final relaxation (savasana), as a key part of yoga practice.
