Welome to pilates: a friendly introduction workshop

Whilst yoga and pilates are sometimes considered rivals, with people often preferring one or the other, the two disciplines can be hugely complimentary.

Pilates’ focus on core strength can help us as yoga practitioners improve posture, balance and overall strength, helping us bring a new fluidity and ease to the physical aspects of our yoga practice. The practice is also often presented as a holistic mind/body discpline.

This spring 2023 pilates introduction session will be taught by Natalie Howlett. Natalie discovered pilates14 years ago whilst recovering from a nasty car accident. She says:

“I was fascinated how such small controlled movements, and even how I breathe made such a big difference in a small space of time. Not only my body got stronger and more balanced but my overall well being improved.”

I was hooked and started my training shortly after this. Over the last thirteen years I have continued my learning and now work with cancer patients, hip and knee replacement rehab and people suffering with back pain and injury.”

Natalie is keen to emphasises that pilates is for every body, whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced exerciser. She adds: “Our Pilates introduction workshop will offer an introduction to gentle body movements to reconnect your body and mind whilst improving your strength, mobility and posture.”
